FULLERTON -- Zachary Visentin had a career night, but it wasn't enough for a Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team that was again done in by poor shooting and turnovers in a 65-49 loss to UC Davis on Saturday night.
Visentin, a senior, scored a career-high 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and blocked three shots, but Fullerton shot 29.8% from the field and had 22 turnovers while losing its fifth straight game to drop to 6-19 overall and 1-11 in Big West Conference play. Kaleb Brown added six points and nine rebounds, while Kobe Young had six points and eight rebounds.
The Titans shot just 23% from the field in the first half and trailed 34-23 at halftime.
The Aggies (14-10, 8-5 Big West) feasted on the turnovers to start the second half and opened a 21-point lead with 13:20 remaining. Fullerton never mounted much of a charge and trailed by at least 15 the rest of the night.
T.Y. Johnson had 20 points on 8-for-20 shooting (3 for 8 from 3-point range) to pace UC Davis. Leo DeBruhl added 11 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and six steals. Carl Daughtery Jr. scored 10 points.
Fullerton shot 18 for 20 from the free-throw line and outrebounded the Aggies 40-32, but the visitors enjoyed a 27-9 advantage in points off turnovers and a 13-2 advantage in fast-break points.
