Justine Wanda is a stand-up comedian, writer and satirist based in Nairobi.

Kenya's Justine Wanda is set to join the Shoko Festival comedy night, which will be headlined by the award-winning King Kandoro.

The Kenyan comedian will be a supporting act along with Munya, Mbongeni, and Mike, while award-winning DJ Iroq will provide musical entertainment.

According to a social media post from the festival, "One stage. Five comedy heavyweights. One legendary night of laughter. To be headlined by Zimbabwe's global comedy superstar, King Kandoro, Shoko Comedy Night will leave you in stitches."

Justine Wanda is a stand-up comedian, writer and satirist based in Nairobi.

She's proficient in dark and observational humour and even opened for award-winning comedian Hannibal Buress in 2018, only a year into the scene.

Justine has quickly risen through Nairobi's budding stand-up scene having appeared on Showmax's Roast House and has a headliner special on Showmax's Comedy Riot both created by Eugene Mbugua.

She's sharpened her skill by performing at the critically-acclaimed Kenyan Improv show Because You Said So! and prominent stand-up comedy shows/clubs such as Standup Collective, Spare My Ribs, Nairobi Comedy Club, and Punchline Comedy Club.

She's a comedy writer with correspondent credits on The Fareed Khimani Show and wrote for News By The Catalyst too, a satire web talk show hosted by Muthoni Maingi.

Through collaborations with Buni Media and Magamba TV from Zimbabwe, she's scripted satirical pieces on a wide range of topics from election misinformation and disinformation and macro/microeconomics across the African continent.

Justine created and hosts her own political satire show, Fake Woke With Justine, aimed at educational humor and critical dissection of the Kenyan/African political, economic, social, and cultural world.

This year's Shoko Festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the theme The Legacy XV.

The festival promises a spectacular experience, featuring a diverse lineup of talent.

King Kandoro is set to headline the comedy stage, while music lovers can enjoy performances by Bagga, Madedido, Runna Rulez and Jnr Spragga, among others.

The festival aims to be a vibrant showcase of its lasting impact and continued dedication to promoting diverse artistic talent.
