Kentucky Wesleyan College hosts euphonium and piano recital

Kentucky Wesleyan College will host guest artist Steven Mead, one of the world's most successful professional euphonium soloists in the world, with pianist Dr. Diane Earle, KWC Professor Emerita of Music, on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel in the Barnard-Jones Administration Building. The recital is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Mead, a native of England, is the most recorded euphonium artist in the world, and several of his recordings have won international awards. He performs regularly with some of the finest brass, wind and symphonic ensembles in the world. He has also appeared as a soloist with many of the leading military bands internationally. He is Professor of Euphonium the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, U.K., and teaches at several specialist schools across Europe and in Japan. He has been responsible for the first ever euphonium master classes in Italy, Portugal, Lithuania, Slovenia, Russia and Austria. Students from all around the world come to study with him in the U.K. and many of them have gone on to enjoy top professional careers. His concerts and recitals are marked by unique communication between artist and audience.
