All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs was still in denial Sunday that Micah Parsons was no longer a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
Parsons only played in 29 of the Packers' 65 defensive snaps (45%) in their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. But he still found a way to make a huge impact when he was out on the field.
Green Bay's new star linebacker tallied three pressures, with one of them leading to Parsons' first-ever sack in a Packer green uniform. The four-time Pro Bowler found a crease between two Lions O-linemen and stalked quarterback Jared Goff down like he was prey.
Diggs, whose Cowboys played on Thursday, felt like he was having a nightmare when he saw the moment unfold. He let his feelings be known on social media.
"This can't be real," Diggs wrote on X. "Wake me up from the dream."
Diggs was Parsons' closest friend when they were teammates in Dallas. The trade affected Trevon so much that Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer felt the need to comfort him after the news broke.
Watching your best friend move away, regardless of your age, is a pain that doesn't go away easily. It'll hurt even more for Diggs as Parsons starts piling on the highlights in Green Bay.
