Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3's opening eight minutes are riveting, and the footage doesn't show any mercy where either the compelling characters or die-hard fans are concerned. The brand-new preview reveals that a month has passed since Part 2's gut-wrenching finale, and Kwon Jae-Sung's (Brandon H. Lee) death has left everyone reeling following the tragedy that took place at the global karate tournament, particularly for lifelong enemies, John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Josh Heald, who is one of the drama's three showrunners, discussed following up the deadly events of the Sekai Taikai within the series' final five episodes in a new interview (per Tudum) by saying:
"We are now in the aftermath of everyone coming back home. We wanted to explore everybody's headspace -- the people who had all their hopes and dreams tied up with success at the Sekai Taikai; the people who had more of an emotional reason to be there, like Daniel; the people who have everything riding on it for the wrong reasons, like Silver [Thomas Ian Griffith]; and people like Johnny [William Zabka] who really felt like, 'This is the thing I have to accomplish to move on with my life.'"
The full eight-minute sneak peek, which is available to watch in its entirety on Tudum, dropped along with a brief 94-second preview (below) on Monday, Feb. 10. The footage reveals that Kreese is blaming himself for Kwon's death, while Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) and Carmen (Vanessa Rubio) are trying to help Robby (Tanner Buchanan), whose grades have slipped significantly since the conclusion of the Sekai Taikai. However, there are two characters who appear to be affected even more so than any of the others, and they are Master Kim (C.S. Lee) and none other than Daniel LaRusso!
Daniel LaRusso Loses His Passion for Karate Following the Sekai Taikai
Cobra Kai's swan song is eyeing an epic final fight as the Sekai Taikai moves to The Valley. However, the first eight minutes of Season 6 Part 3 reveal two people who were utterly devastated by the tournament's bloody conclusion, and both are drastically dealing with Kwon's demise. Cobra Kai's mysterious and dangerous Master Kim is consumed with revenge for the death of his dojo's star student, Kwon. Meanwhile, a world away in California, Miyagi-Do's Daniel LaRusso seems to have given up on karate, which was his lifelong passion. Macchio addressed his character's extreme deviation in the same interview (below):
"For LaRusso, it was more about brushing it under the rug and focusing on the wonderful things he has in his life, since he can't control what just happened. [Daniel is] shedding karate from his life at the moment and focusing on his family, his daughter, his wife, [and] the anniversary of the dealership. He's deflecting from what's really bothering him."

Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 drops Feb. 13 exclusively on Netflix. The final five episodes mark The Karate Kid spin-off's bittersweet conclusion as the successful streaming series comes to an end, but Daniel LaRusso's crane-kicking story will continue on the big screen.
