Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Boyd, dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Boyd got into an argument with an unknown suspect -- now believed to be Pace -- which escalated into a physical altercation and resulted in Boyd being shot. The suspect then fled the scene in a white Nissan Altima with black rims.

Further investigation led authorities to identify Pace as the suspect. He was charged on Feb. 25 and subsequently arrested on Feb. 27 by members of the U.S. Marshals Service in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Pace was booked into the Jackson County Sheriff's Office Detention Center and will be extradited back to Harris County.
