Renowned Filmmaker Ibrahim Chatta Loses Son

Renowned Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta is grieving the loss of his son.

The 54-year-old actor took to Instagram on Saturday to share the sad news, but did not disclose any details surrounding his son's death.

Posting a picture of his late son, Chatta wrote, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ."

After the announcement, Chatta's fans and colleagues filled the comments section with heartfelt messages of sympathy.

The news follows the recent loss of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola's only son, Ayomikun, who died in his early 30s in Ibadan earlier this week.

These back-to-back losses have plunged the Nollywood community into grief, with fans and colleagues expressing shock over the twin tragedies.

In June, Chatta had shared how he had lost his first child, a daughter, years ago.

He said her death was due to financial difficulties and insufficient medical care.

Chatta disclosed that, unable to afford a proper coffin, he had to bury his daughter in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate.
