Lincoln baseball set for home opener today | Jefferson City News-Tribune

The Lincoln Blue Tigers baseball team starts its first home series of the season today at Vivion Field with a 2 p.m. game against the William Woods Owls.

Lincoln (0-3) opened its season last weekend by dropping a series against Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn. The Blue Tigers scored 10 runs in the series. As a team, Lincoln is hitting .224 with a .313 on base percentage (OBP).

Jayden Little is hitting .500 for the Blue Tigers, with two home runs and five RBI. Jacob Schulte also is batting .500, followed by Andy Srebroski at .308.

Lincoln gave up 30 runs in the opening three games.

Drake Davidson has the lowest ERA on the Blue Tigers at 1.50, allowing six hits in six innings. Jacob Claiborn has a 3.37 ERA in 2 2/3 innings.

William Woods is 2-2 to start its season.

The Owls hit .279 as a team, led by Kaden Kinsler at .400.

The Owls have a team ERA of 8.65.

Lincoln leads the all-time series against the Owls 16-12. The last time these two programs met was in 2011, a game the Blue Tigers won 16-6.
