The Hutchinson baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision to Wayzata Saturday afternoon in both teams season opener.
The Tigers managed just three hits, while striking out on 12 plate appearances. The lineup had a lot of new faces, with Brain Meuleners the only regular from last season, in Saturday's batting order.
Meuleners, Kevin Kuhl and Dan Burnett collected the hits.
Kuhl started the game by pitching three innings, allowing four runs in the outing. He struck out six batters. Thomas Jansick and Brain Meuleners also pitched in the game.
Hutchinson will host the home opener at 4:15 p.m. today against section opponent Mankato West at Veterans Memorial Field.
Matt Timm is expected to start on the mound for the Tigers.
