It was a big night for DreamWorks Animation's acclaimed book adaptation, which took home nine prizes.
As award season speeds along, The Wild Robot (pictured) scored a huge gain in momentum at the 52nd edition of the annual Annie Awards on Saturday.
The DreamWorks Animation pic about a shipwrecked robot walked away with nine wins -- including the coveted Best Feature award. In other film-focused categories, The Wild Robot racked up prizes for Best Direction, Best Music, Best Voice Acting and Best Character Animation to name a few.
This sweep cements The Wild Robot as one of two frontrunners in the animation race at this year's Oscars, next to indie darling Flow. This feline-focused pic from Sacrebleu, Take Five and Dream Well -- which already has a Golden Globe win and multiple Annecy prizes to its name -- scored two Annies, taking home awards for Best Feature Writing and Best Independent Feature.
On the TV side of the ceremony, DreamWorks Animation secured two wins for Orion and the Dark in the Writing and Special Production categories. And Disney earned multiple awards for shows including Pixar toon Dream Productions (Best Limited Series and Best Voice Acting) and Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (Best TV/Media for Children and Best Character Design). Imagine Entertainment's The Tiny Chef Show emerged as the winner of Best TV/Media for Preschool.
Select Annie winners are featured below, and a full list is available on the ceremony's website.
