Driver slides on slush right off the dock in Southwest Harbor

A driver went through a railing and off the edge of the dock at Dysart's Great Harbor Marina in Southwest Harbor on Thursday afternoon after apparently losing traction.

The incident happened at about 3:40 p.m., according to the clock on the marina's webcam, which captured the truck sliding with its brake lights on through the dock railing and disappearing over the edge.

According to the Mount Desert Islander, the driver was unable to stop in the slushy conditions but was able to get out of the truck immediately and is "fine" after being checked out by EMTs.

A photo posted to Facebook by the Islander showed the pickup truck upside down and partially submerged in the water with its bed resting on a floating dock.
