LaJohntay Wester Sends Clear Message to Ravens Teammates During OTAs originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Former Colorado wide receiver LaJohntay Wester is already turning heads in his early days with the Baltimore Ravens.
On Thursday, five-time All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins revealed the Ravens' speed board, where Wester's top speed of 19.9 mph ranked third among receivers and fourth overall. Hopkins topped the chart at 20.0 MPH, while Marquise Robinson led all defenders at 20.2 MPH.
Wester's impact in Baltimore comes after making history at the 2025 NFL Draft. He was one of three Colorado wide receivers selected, joining Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr. It marked the first time since 1991 that three Buffs at the same position were drafted, and no program had more receivers taken.
Wester may have found the ideal landing spot as a sixth-rounder. He joins an offense led by fellow Floridian Lamar Jackson, who like Wester has a dog mentality.
This is nothing new for Wester after a standout performance at the East-West Shrine Bowl and a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
"LaJohntay Wester had the highest max acceleration on offense at the Shrine Bowl," said Shrine Bowl director Eric Galko. "Dynamic as a receiver and returner, he's one of the best playmakers in the draft."
In his lone season with the Buffaloes, Wester recorded 74 catches for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns. His 326 career receptions rank sixth in FBS history.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta praised Wester's return skills after drafting him, saying, "We think Wester has the chance to be an impact punt returner for us."

Wester's combination of speed and playmaking ability gives him a strong chance to crack the final 53-man roster. He'll also be a strong asset for a Ravens team who is a true AFC contender.
