Lawrence J. Hennes

Lawrence Hennes, 65, formerly of Jordan, passed away in Biloxi, Miss.

A memorial service was held June 10, 2008 at the Rambling River Center in Farmington.

Allan A. Graupmann

Allan A. Graupmann, 66, of Prior Lake, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Allan was born March 20, 1942 to Wilmer and Esther (Oelfke) Graupmann. He and Karen Rowert were married Dec. 14, 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jordan. Allan played the bass guitar for two bands, Rave-ons and the Vagabonds. He was a member of Prior Lake Sportsman Club, Ducks Unlimited and NRA. He was self-employed as an upholster, floor covering installer and woodworker. He built the chancellor furniture (pulpit, lectern, baptismal font and altar) for Faith Lutheran Church in Prior Lake.

Loved and forever missed by his wife, Karen; children, Nikkole Lisak of Lakeville, Troy (Julie) Graupmann of Prior Lake; three grandchildren, Maggie, Charlie and Olivia; sister, Linda Schugg of Norwood Young America; sister-in-law, Mavis Graupmann of Green Isle, Minn.; six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.

Visitation was Friday, June 20, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Prior Lake, and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Urnbearer was Troy Graupmann. Honorary urnbearers included James Graupmann, Michelle Forseth, Suzanne Schuth, David Graupmann, Katherine Luchsinger and Joe Graupmann.

Robert Allan McGregor

Robert McGregor, 44, of Prior Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Fairview Ridges Hospital.

He was born in Minneapolis on April 8, 1964, the son of Thomas and Charlotte (Bucek) McGregor. Robert was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching all sorts of sports, especially the Vikings. He was an excellent chef and he himself enjoyed good food.

Loved and forever missed by his parents, Tom and Charlotte McGregor of Prior Lake; siblings, Richard McGregor of Prior Lake; Glenn (Carrie) McGregor of Forest Lake, Minn.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 24, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, from 9:30-11 a.m. with the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Private Interment at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Genevieve Ann Pond

Genevieve "Jenny" Pond, 63, of Prior Lake, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 at her home.

She was born April 30, 1945 to Francis and Genevieve (Hulbert) May. She married Dennis Pond on Sept. 2, 1967 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Madison, S.D. Jenny was a member of the Scott County Daycare Association. She liked quilting, sewing, reading and gardening. She loved and adored her family. For 28 years as a daycare provider, she was a special mother to hundreds of daycare children.

Loved and forever missed by her husband, Dennis Pond of Prior Lake; children, Jason Pond, serving in Iraq, Katie (Scott) Hass of Belle Plaine, Jacki (Aaron) Cook of South Minneapolis; grandchild, Kaleb Pond; mother, Genevieve May of Raytown, Mo.; siblings, Mike (Karen) May of Sioux Falls, S.D., Ed May of Denver, Colo., David May of Raytown, Mo., Tom (Sandy) May of Boynton Beach, Fla.

She was preceded by her father, Francis May; brother, Vincent May; sister, Mary May.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 25, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake and also one hour prior to the service at church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Prior Lake, with Father Tom Sieg presiding. Interment at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Prior Lake. Pallbearers include Jason Hotzler, Scott Haas, Mike Korzan, Ron Brandt, Aaron Cook, and Mark Scholle.

James Allan Benson

James Benson, 55, of Shakopee, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his home.

He was born July 31, 1952 in St. Paul.

He married Kathleen Ann Kurtz on Feb. 14, 1990 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, Minn. Jim was a member of the Eastside V.F.W. Post 4847 in St. Cloud. He enjoyed his family, especially his granddaughters. James joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969 and served in Vietnam.

Loved and forever missed by his wife, Kathleen Benson of Shakopee; son, Jeff (Holly) Benson of St. Cloud; stepdaughters, Kerry (Chris) Flynn of Lakeville, Kelly (Brian) Lassi of Shakopee; granddaughters, Taylor, Morgan, Grace, Sage and Wren.

He was preceded by his grandparents, Merten and Ethel Benson.

Visitation was held Monday, June 23, from 10-11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Prior Lake. Celebration of Life service followed at 11 a.m. Interment will be Thursday, July 31, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Urnbearers include Jeff Benson, Brian Lassi, Chris Flynn, Taylor Lassi.

Geraldine C. Dohmen

Geraldine Dohmen, 84, of New Prague, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

Geraldine was born in St. Benedict, Helena Township, on June 2, 1924 to Nicholas and Christina (Lambrecht) Krautkremer. She married Robert H. Dohmen on Sept. 9, 1947 in St. Benedict. A lifelong resident of St. Benedict and the New Prague area, she attended St. Benedict Catholic School. Besides enjoying crocheting, embroidery and crossword puzzle and word finds, Geraldine was a cook at Knights of Columbus Hall in New Prague for 40 years.

She is survived by children, Jim (Elaine} of Escondido, Calif., Ron (Faith) of Plymouth, Randy (Karen) of Eden Prairie, Dorene (Kirk) Vogland of Bloomington, Barb (Jeff) Stoneburg of Eden Prairie; brother, Omer (Julia) Krautkremer; sister, Rosella (Severin) Riesgraf; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Krautkremer and Gladys Krautkremer Busch; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert (Sept. 19, 1990); grandson, Andrew Dohmen; parents; brothers, Victor, Andrew and Alvin Krautkremer; sisters, Viola Lucas, Mathilda "Tillie" Mayerhoffer, Philomena Geis.

Visitation was Sunday, June 22, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, June 23, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home, New Prague. Parish wake prayers were held at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, New Prague, on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Hessian officiating. Pallbearers were son-in-law Kirk Vogland and grandchildren. Interment at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, New Prague.

Charles Wellens Sr., 84, of Shakopee, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his home.

Charlie was born Oct. 16, 1923 to John and Elizabeth (Rief) Wellens in Chaska. Charlie served in the Army as a Tech 4 Tank Operator in the Pacific Theatre during W.W.II. He married Am Doerr on Aug. 11, 1951. He operated a dairy farm outside of Shakopee for 38 years. Since his retirement, Charlie enjoyed fishing, trapping, 4-wheeling and his grandkids.

Loved and forever missed by his six children, Chuck (Melode) Wellens, Bobbie (Scott) Lindemann, Bonnie Wellens, Bev (Dale) Rudolph, Daniel Wellens, Brenda (Tom) Ginter; eight grandchildren, Anita (Gregg) Frey, Karla (Mark Preister) Lindemann, Kurt Lindemann, Jacob, Jon and Matt Rudolph, Melissa and Nick Ginter; two great-grandchildren, Hope and Jordan Miller; three sisters, Delores Wellens, Arlene Steiner, Betty (James) Moran.

He is proceeded in death by wife, Am; parents; siblings, Audrey Tholen, Germain Wellens, James Wellens and Vernice Kopp.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, Marystown, and also one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, Marystown. Interment will be at Marystown Catholic Cemetery, Marystown.

Elva Anna Fahrenkamp

Elva Anna Fahrenkamp, 92, of Prior Lake, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.

Elva was born April 19, 1916 in New Prague to parents, John and Verena (Jahn) Gerdes. She married Marlin Fahrenkamp on Feb. 14, 1942 in Montgomery. Elva was active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Ladies Aid and the Quilters. She also volunteered for the CAP Agency. Elva enjoyed her Prior Lake home where she entertained family and friends.

Loved and forever missed by her children, Dennis (Toni) Fahrenkamp of Hernando, Miss., Don (friend, Sandy) Fahrenkamp of Prior Lake, Jon (Becky) Fahrenkamp of Isle, Minn., Jane (Steven) Engle of Prior Lake, Kathy (Wyatt) Reed of Jordan, Susan (Rick) Buckles of Lakeville; foster daughter, Cindy Hagen of Minneapolis; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren

Preceded in death by her husband, Marlin; infant daughter, Mary; her parents; brothers, Willard and Elmer Gerdes.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, one hour prior to the service at church.

Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Prior Lake. Pallbearers will be Tim Fahrenkamp, Will Fahrenkamp, Travis Plekkenpol, Dalton Reed, Clinton Reed, Anthony Sommers. Interment will be at Czech National Cemetery, New Prague.

Ron R. Tuma

Ron Tuma, 60, of Prior Lake, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at his home.

Ron was born Sept. 24, 1947 in New Prague. His parents were Joseph and Albina (Maxa) Tuma.

He is survived by siblings, Stanley (Ann) Tuma of New Prague, Rita Boller of Prior Lake, former wife, Cheryl Tuma of Prior Lake; eight nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Albina Tuma; brother, Bernard Tuma; brother-in-law, Jim Boller.

Ron was a kind and gentle man. He enjoyed his 5-acre hobby farm. He was a racing enthusiast; Ron previously raced at Elko Speedway. He and his partner's car still holds the track record. Ron retired from BNK Block/Ess Construction. He was a member of Local Block and Cement Finishers 633.

Visitation was Sunday, June 22, from 4-7 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake. Memorial service was Monday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Boller, Jeff Boller, Tammy Scheve, Dick Tuma and Jean Salaba. Interment at Credit River Cemetery, Prior Lake.
