The European soccer season will come to a close with the grand finale of its biggest club competition, the Champions League. Having started off with 36 teams, we are now down to the last two. French league champions PSG will take on Italian giants Inter Milan on Saturday to determine who is the best club in Europe.
This is the first time since 2004 that the final will not feature a team from England, Spain or Germany.
It wasn't an easy start for PSG, who struggled during the newly-introduced league phase of the Champions League narrowly making it to the next round. However, Luis Enrique's side clicked into gear once the knockout stages began.
Their journey to the final has seen them vanquish teams like Premier League champions Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal convincingly. This will be PSG's second appearance in a Champions League final -- they lost to Bayern Munich 0-1 in 2020.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, have been in top form since the beginning of the tournament. They conceded only one goal in the league phase and finished fourth on the leaderboard.
However, it was a tough road to the final for the Nerazzurri, with each of their knockout ties going down the wire. Simone Inzhagi will look to cement his status as one of the greatest managers in the club's history by leading Inter to their first Champions League trophy since 2010.
