The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has encouraged Nigerians to leverage the Eid-el Maulud celebration to promote a national rebirth and strengthen their commitment to resisting totalitarianism.
In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, extended congratulations to Nigerians, particularly Muslims, on the occasion.
Ologunagba emphasized the significance of the event, stating, "The celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) comes as a demonstration of the supremacy of the Will of the Almighty Allah in the affairs of men."
He urged leaders to reflect on the Prophet's teachings and seek divine guidance in their actions.
The PDP called on the government to use this period for self-assessment and to revise policies to tackle insecurity, economic hardship, and other national challenges. Ologunagba also advised the ruling party to "respect the will of Nigerians by listening to alternative opinions, which is the hallmark of democracy."
Despite the nation's difficulties, Ologunagba encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and united, saying, "Nigerians should not despair but continue to show love to one another while remaining resolute in their rallying with the PDP to salvage the nation."
