BLACK ROCK DESERT, Nevada -- A man who was killed at the annual Burning Man festival over Labor Day weekend was from Washington state.
The case is being investigated as a homicide.
On Tuesday night, the Washoe Medical Examiner's Office used fingerprints to identify the victim as 37-year-old Vadim Kruglov.
On the night of Saturday, Aug. 30, as the "Man" was beginning to burn in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, someone approached a Pershing County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) deputy and said there was a man lying in a pool of blood.
PCSO deputies and Nevada Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rangers cordoned off the area and began investigating.
Forensic teams from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office were called in to help process the scene and collect evidence.
The murder is believed to have occurred in Black Rock City between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. However, the temporary "city," which was built by participants, started being dismantled on Monday, so investigators had to complete their work before evidence disappeared, PCSO Sheriff Jerry Allen told ABC News. The festival has a "leave no trace" policy.
Anyone with possible information is asked to contact the PCSO at 775-273-2641, reference case #25-318, and ask for investigator Josh Nicholson or email jnicholson@pershingcountynv.gov
Kruglov is described as being about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with short brown hair and facial hair.
"At this time, no information is too small to disregard, so do not hesitate to contact my office," Allen said in a Sept. 1 news release.
