The Mavericks were already without key pieces like Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II before Gafford's injury.
The frontcourt injury woes continue for the Dallas Mavericks.
Already without key players like Dereck Lively II and Anthony Davis, Dallas will have to move forward without Daniel Gafford for a few games. Gafford sustained a right knee sprain Monday night against Sacramento and is set to be re-evaluated within two weeks, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Gafford suffered the knee injury in the second quarter of Dallas' loss to the Kings, falling to the floor after colliding with Malik Monk on a screen attempt. The Mavericks center was on the floor for a few seconds before immediately being helped to the locker room by Mavs training staff members.

Dallas recently took a hit in the frontcourt when Davis went down in his Mavericks debut Saturday. He suffered an adductor strain and is expected to miss multiple weeks.
Meanwhile, Lively sustained a stress fracture in his right ankle during a January meeting with the Denver Nuggets. Dwight Powell is also notably missing from the rotation after sustaining a right hip strain in January.

Gafford, Davis, Lively and Powell were all ruled out in the team's latest injury report for its Wednesday game against Golden State. Recent trade acquisition Caleb Martin was also listed among the absences.
Dante Exum (left Achilles tightness) and P.J. Washington (right ankle sprain) were listed as questionable for Wednesday's game.
