Kelly Osbourne Is Finding Joy in Falconry After Dad Ozzy's Death

Kelly, 40, shared a moving post via Instagram Monday, September 8, in which she revealed she's turned to a surprising outlet for her grief: falconry. "In all my sadness & grief I have found something that truly makes me happy!" Kelly wrote over a photo of herself smiling with an owl.

She continued: "I never thought I would find my smile again through falconry but I did. I absolutely love being with the birds."

Kelly also shared a video of herself smiling at the same owl before it took off from her wrist -- and then returned seconds later. "You are great," she told the owl.

"I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough ... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you 💜," Kelly wrote via her Instagram Stories on August 4.

She added, "The love, support and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain."

Kelly then shifted the conversation to the topic of grief. "Grief is a strange thing," she continued. "It sneaks up on you in waves -- I will not be OK for a while -- but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I'm holding on tight to the love, the light and the legacy left behind."

"Thank you for being there. I love you all so much," she concluded alongside the hashtags "#BirminghamForever" and "#OzzyForever."

Kelly and her family confirmed Ozzy's death at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson's disease.

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," read a statement to Us Weekly signed by Kelly, mom Sharon Osbourne, sister Aimee Osbourne and brothers Louis Osbourne and Jack Osbourne. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
