Buxar health officials pulled up for poor immunisation coverage | Patna News - The Times of India

Buxar: District magistrate, Vidyanand Singh, on Monday chaired a review meeting of the health department in the collectorate premises.The meeting focused on assessing the performance and progress of key health indicators and services in the district.The DM sought an explanation from district immunisation officer, Dr B P Singh, forlow immunisation at the community health centre (CHC), Simri, in July.The meeting highlighted the low progress of the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination drive, aimed at covering girls from 9 to 14 years. The DM asked the health department to make a comprehensive plan to achieve a wide coverage within a stipulated time frame.Explanation was sought from the medical officer in charge of CHC, Rajpur, for poor administering of BCG vaccine.The civil surgeon was directed to convene a meeting with all ASHA workers to create a strategy to ensure 100% immunisation of children born in both private and govt institutions.Expressing serious concern over 46 minutes of waiting time for patients at Sadar Hospital Buxar, the DM asked officials to reduce it to 10 minutes.Additionally, irregularities were noted in the commencement of OPD services. The DM expressed directed the civil surgeon to ensure that treatment begins immediately after registration of patients.
