Issa Rae is back with something new for the big screen. The ever so talented star is stepping into the world of suspense with a twist of comedy in her latest film venture.

The Insecure creator and actress has signed on to star in and produce Good People Bad Things, an upcoming comedic thriller that promises to take audiences on a wild ride through a mysterious maze of the unexpected.

According to Deadline, the story centers on Rae's character, a woman pushed to her limits who finds herself trapped in an enormous parking garage that seems to have no end. As she searches for a way out, she soon realizes she is far from alone.

Looks like the film is written and directed by Ninian Doff, known for his stylish and offbeat storytelling. Good People Bad Thingswill be backed by MRC, making this the third collaboration between the studio and Rae, who previously worked with them on American Fiction and The Lovebirds.

Behind the camera, Issa Rae is producing through her Hoorae banner alongside Montrel McKay. Sara Rastogi of Hoorae is also on board as executive producer. Additional producers include Michelle Craig and Piero Frescobaldi, as well as Laura Tunstall and Stephanie Wilcox under Doff's new production company Present Company Inc.

Rae's interest in genre bending roles continues to grow. She recently took a turn in Netflix's acclaimed series Black Mirror, appearing in the "Hotel Reverie" episode alongside Emma Corrin and Awkwafina.
