Eden Prairie's Claire Thompson and Lily Askegaard are among the Minnehaha Academy students participating in the academy's biennial Madrigal Dinner, "The Midwinter's Dream Knight."
The event takes place at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 and 4 p.m. Feb. 21 at at Minnehaha Academy's North Campus, 3100 West River Parkway, Minneapolis. This fundraising event for the Minnehaha choirs is a grand event involving 90 student musicians, actors, technicians and prominently features the Madrigal Singers, Minnehaha's top vocal ensemble of 18 singers.
The gymnasium is transformed into "Minnehaha Manor" where wandering minstrels, artists, merchants, acrobats, servants and the Royal Court of Madrigal Singers take dinner guests back in time with a Renaissance themed play, music and four-course meal.
The dinner raises money for choir tours, guest clinicians, festival participation and other needs that keep the choral program strong.
