¥ The center will hold a "holiday movie marathon" beginning at 12:30 p.m. Those who attend may enjoy an afternoon of holiday classic movies followed by a soup supper. The cost is $3. Call 952-939-1333 to register.
Through Dec. 15
¥ From now through Dec. 15, the center is challenging each group that meets there to help fill up the branches of the Giving Tree. The following items will be accepted: mittens, caps and scarves for infants, children and adults; new, unwrapped toys for infants to children age 14; cash; food; and toiletry items. All contributions, including toys, will remain in the Hopkins/Minnetonka area.

¥ Dr. Walter Benjamin, an author and professor emeritus of religion and applied ethics at Hamline University, will present a look back at the Great Depression and some of the valuable lessons future generations have learned from it. The program begins at 1 p.m. The cost is $4.
Monday, Dec. 18
¥ The center will hold a holiday party luncheon at noon. The entertainment will be provided by the Skip Moore Combo. The cost is $7 and is payable to Minnetonka Senior Services.
